JAMMU, July 23: Students of Mechanical Engineering and Electronics Engineering Departments of Global Institutes have come up with an innovative Robot that can work in highly hazard prone environment such as high temperature, chemical or nuclear environments where there is danger to the human life.
The Robot is fitted with highly sophisticated technology including PLCs, Sensors, Feedback Devices etc.
The developed Robot can also be useful for Welding, Thermal Spraying, Plasma Cutting, Packaging and other Material Handling operations in the industry.
The Robot is capable of handling the load up to 10 Kgs and its Cylinder housing has been made with Aluminum 6061 material.
Its arm is fitted with Pneumatic gripper.
Students of final year including Mandhir Saini, Akash Arora, Gurpreet Singh, Kumar Vishal, Manjinder Singh, Prabhdeep Singh, Ravijot Singh, Rohit Prabhakar, Saumya Prinja, Tanvir Abrol were involved in developing this Robot.
Leader of the team Mandhir Saini said that all the team members were very excited after the successful testing of the Robot.
Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, Prof D S Bhambra said that we encourage the students of the Department to take up innovative projects and extend them full support including the Laboratory as well as Workshop facility of the Institute for successfully completing the project.
Dr Arvind Bhardwaj, Director of Global Institute said that earlier also students of our Mechanical Engineering Department brought laurels to the Institute by developing innovative Formula Cars.
Dr Akashdeep Singh, Vice Chairman of the Institutes said that Global Institutes will always remain committed for producing highly competent engineers who can serve the society as well as our nation.
