UDHAMPUR, Mar 17: A large number of students of Govt College for Women, Udhampur staged protest demonstration against the Principal and the local MLA here today.
The student gathered in the College premises here during the day and started massive protest against Principal, Prof KS Koushal and MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta. They were protesting in support of their long pending demand of Educational and Geographical tour, worst condition of toilets in the college and non-cooperative behavior of the Principal. They raised loud slogans against the college authorities and the MLA.
While addressing the media persons, Osheen, NSS volunteer and student of GCW Udhampur alleged that many time issues have been discussed with the Principal and other concerned authorities regarding above mentioned problems but only false assurances have been given to them. She added that GCW Udhampur lacks many basic facilities due to which girls are suffering.
Worst condition of toilets creates anguish among students and termed it as a big question mark on PM Modi’s “Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan”.
Another student Chandel said that despite remaining in the Ministry the local public representative from Udhampur, Pawan Kumar Gupta also failed to address the genuine issues of the students and take necessary steps.
The students warned to launch big agitation if their demands are not addressed by the authorities concerned.
