Students Federation demands streamlining of education

JAMMU, May 12: J&K State Council of All India Students Federation has demanded streamlining of the education system in Jammu and Kashmir by providing adequate infrastructure and implementing Centrally sponsored schemes.
Talking to media persons, here today, AISF national general secretary Com Abhay Taksal pointed out the lapses in State education system and alleged corruption at different levels.
He also listed the Federation demands, which included allocation of 6  percent GDP for the education,  implementation of 25 percent quota for BPL students in private schools under RTE, reduction in various fees in educational institutions, increase in number of seats in universities and colleges, regular elections of student unions there and hike in salary of teachers.
Others present in the press conference, included Ajaz Ahmed, Dr Akash Manhas, Nirja Sharma and Mukesh Parihar.
