JAMMU, Feb 12: Up in arms against yesterday’s incident, students of various colleges in Jammu region today boycotted their classes and held strong protest demonstrations demanding immediate arrest of those who raised Anti-India slogans and also suspension of police men involved in lathicharge at GGM Science College.
The students of GGM Science College, SMPR College of Commerce, MAM College, GDC RS Pura, Govt Polytechnic College Jammu, GDC Samba, GDC Kathua, GDC Reasi, GDC Udhampur and others boycotted their classes and held demonstrations at their respective institutes.

Amidst raising of slogans, these students were demanding stern action against the erring cops and the anti-nationals, who attempted to trigger tension in peaceful Jammu region.
As already reported, Police yesterday resorted to lathicharge on the students of GGM Science college, when they were protesting against raising of pro-Pakistan slogans by some stranded Kashmir bound passengers during their demonstration near the college.
This morning, a large number of students from different colleges assembled near Martyrs’ Memorial at GGM Science College and held a massive demonstration amidst raising of slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai. The protest demonstration was led by JJSF leaders, who also demanded that the land of GGM Science College encroached upon by the Aquaf should be restored to the College.
Vikram Singh Chib, Provincial president of JJSF, announced that until and unless the demands are fulfilled, the agitation shall continue.
A similar protest was held outside Jammu University main gate by the activists of ABVP, led by Ravail Parihar. The protesting students also blocked the road outside JU and raised slogans for action against the erring cops as well as those who raised anti-India slogans at GGM Science College Jammu.
The protest demonstration at Udhampur college was led by ABVP leader Rahul Sharma.
