Students continue protest against fee hike

KISHTWAR, Dec 7: The students of Kishtwar Campus continued their protest under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) against fee hike.
Large number of students under the banner of ABVP gathered at the main gate of the college and raised slogans against Director Kishtwar Campus and Jammu University administration.
Addressing the gathering, one of the protester said that few days back Director Kishtwar Campus issued fee hike notice and asked the students to submit the fee within 10 days otherwise they will not be allowed to sit in the exams.

“We have already submitted our semester fee and Jammu University authorities are doing injustice with us by further raising the fee”, he said, adding that a memorandum to roll back the fee hike decision was also submitted to Governor, Vice-Chancellor Jammu University, Director Kishtwar Campus and Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, but no decision has been taken till date, which forced them to held protest.
If the decision of fee hike was not rolled back, then the students will launch agitation against the Jammu University authorities in aggressive manner and for any untoward incident the Varsity authorities will be responsible.
Meanwhile, the protesting students appealed to District Administration to arrange a meeting of student representatives with CM Mehbooba Mufti during her proposed visit of Kishtwar on December 9 so that they can discuss the issue of sudden fee hike with her.
