RAJOURI, Apr 23: Expressing his serious concern over the recent incident of clash on the Campus, Prof Javed Musarrat Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University today made it clear that stringent action would be taken against those found guilty.
“High level fact finding committee has already been framed to probe into the incident and it will present it’s report in black and white within a couple of days before the university disciplinary committee, which will take stringent action against those found guilty as per the university statutes,” he said while addressing a press conference, here today.
Informing about his plans for strengthening of the security arrangements, the Vice Chancellor said that CCTV cameras are being installed at vulnerable places within the campus so as to keep a check and avoid such kind of incidents in future. In addition security is being strengthened at the main gate, he added.
The Vice Chancellor assured all the stake holders that issues within the university shall be taken care of by the university administration promptly and further communicated that the District Administration has assured that they will take care of issues relating to maintenance of law and order outside the campus.
Maintaining that the University was on the path of excellence and derailment of the academics shall not be allowed, the Vice Chancellor said that he has come to the University with a mission to raise the University to the next level of excellence in academics and research at the national and international level.
“The incident was a temporary phase which in-fact has washed away, but to an extent it plays a detrimental role in the growth and development of the university and I am pained by this,” he said and reiterated his mission of transforming BGSBU as an institute higher learning at par excellence with other major universities of the country.
The Vice Chancellor said that BGSB University is a pride for people of the State of Jammu and Kashmir in general and for the people of Rajouri-Poonch region in particular. “The University is playing imperative role is the upliftment of socio-economic development of the twin districts Rajouri and Poonch as well as the stake holders from other districts of the State,” he added.
