Stephen IP School organizes Annual Sport Day

JAMMU, Feb 18: Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib, organized Annual Sports Day, ‘Jashn-e-Bachpan’, of Dr. Aparna Kids Kingdom its  Pre-primary wing with pomp and show, here today.
Sham Lal Choudhary, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control was the chief guest on the occasion. The Principal of the school, Shibu Mathew K in his welcome speech, acknowledged the hard work put in by the sports and physical education teachers Jaswinder Kaur, Muneshwar Jamwal, Gautam Sharma and Gurdeep Singh.
He encouraged the students to do their best and compete in a spirit of sportsmanship.
The welcome programme included a musical and dance performance by the young toddlers, flag hoisting by the chief guest and freeing of balloons with the message ‘Save Environment’.
About 200 young athletes from the kindergarten up to grade 2, dressed up smartly in sports gears, marched in front of the invited guests and the spectators.
The Chairman of the school, Dr Kamal Saini, (IGP Retd) declared open the well attended sports gala which included frog race, sack race, crawling, tug of war, chocolate race, back walking race and balancing the balloon among other games for the students and lemon spoon race for their parents.
The Director of the school, Satvinder Saini, Vice-Chairman, Amarjeet Singh and Vice-Principal, Vikesh Sandhal highlighted the efforts of the school in ensuring a holistic development of the students by laying equal emphasis on sports and academics.
The winners in the different categories and events were felicitated and given prizes by the chief guest.
