Stenographers Association appeals Guv to redress issues

JAMMU, July 9: J&K HoD Cadre Stenographers Association has appealed to the Governor to intervene and redress the issues.
Addressing a press conference, Mohammad Latif Qureshi, Chairman of the Association said that the Association has submitted memorandum to Governor, Advisor to Governor Vijay Kumar, Chief Secretary and Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD) projecting various issues.
“The demands, which we have submitted in the memorandum, are induction of HoD Cadre Private Secretaries into KAS in order to afford them equal opportunities of promotions and profession in career through cadre review, creation of further 187 posts of Senior Stenographers and 155 posts of Private Secretaries and pooling of the posts of Junior Scale Stenographers of HoD Cadre and maintaining of common seniority like that of Senior Scale Stenographers of HoD Cadre”, he informed.
He appealed to the Governor, Advisor to Governor Vijay Kumar, Chief Secretary and Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD) to redress the issues projected in the memorandum.
Qureshi also dema-nded posting of Principal Private Secre-taries as Additional Secretaries or on the equivalent posts of ex-cadre basis, holding of DPC twice in the year in all the departments outside the Secretariat on the analogy of Civil Secretariat Subord-inate Services, creating of posts of Private Secretaries with all Deputy Commissio-ners, Directorates and other equivalent heads and creation of posts of Senior Scale Stenographers and Junior Stenographers in all the newly created administrative units and those departments, where the posts are not available and where junior posts are available but the senior posts are required to be created.
The cadre has never observed strike or adopted the agitational path, he said and appealed to the Governor to kindly intervene and remove the disparity and step motherly treatment already meted to this class of the employees.
