STD, PCO holders highlight demands

JAMMU, Apr 13: All J&K STD, PCO Holders Franchisees Association today highlighted their demands and warned the Government to fulfill them failing which its general secretary will go on 48 hours hunger strike.
The demands came up for discussion during a meeting of the association held here today under the chairmanship of Swaran Dass, president of the association.
The main demands that were discussed during the meeting include renewal of license of the DSAs who have not been approved by the BSNL officers, clearance of bills pending with BSNL office, increase in commission, unemployment allowance of at least Rs 10,000 to each DSA/STD PCO and immediate transfer and shifting of corrupt officers/officials in the department.
The meeting informed that the general secretary of the association, Gurmeet Singh, has decided to go on hunger strike for 48 hours if the demands of the association are not fulfilled by the BSNL authorities.
