JAMMU, Feb 8: SAI Training Centre (STC) Jammu today honoured senior SAI Basketball coach (retired) Amarjeet Singh, for his decoration at the Khelo India games being held at New Delhi in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a simple function at Press club Jammu, Amarjeet Singh was presented a memento on behalf of the SAI Jammu by Nisha Sharma, Olympian and Chief Hockey Coach of the Sports Authority of India Chandigarh.
In-charge STC Jammu Varinder Sharma was present on the occasion.
Amarjeet Singh, was nominated by the Government of India and the Basketball Federation of India among the eminent coaches of the country who made remarkable contributions in their profession.
Amarjeet Singh, who retired after three decades of service in SAI is credited to have produced 23 international players. He was decorated along with his trainee, Vishesh Raghuvanshi by the Union Ministry of Youth Services and Sports during the opening ceremony of maiden Khelo India extravaganza which culminated today at New Delhi.
