State pensioners project demands

JAMMU, Mar 19: All Jammu and Kashmir Pensioners and Civil Society Association (Jammu) has urged upon the State Government to implement 7th Pay Commission recommendations without any delay and increase the Medical allowance of employees and pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month.
In a meeting of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of Ajit Singh Adyal, president of the Association, the members expressed serious concern over the delay being caused in resolving long pending issues of the pensioners. They demanded that 7th Pay Commissioner report be implemented without any delay or 20 % interim relief be given till it is implanted, pending DA installments be cleared, Medical allowance of the employees and pensioners be enhanced up to Rs 2000 per month, Medical Insurance Scheme be made applicable to the pensioners as well and the services of all type of contractual/ consolidated and daily rated workers be regularized.
They appealed the Chief Minister to intervene personally into the matter. Other members of the Association including ND Sharma, Prof OP Sharma, Dr Amrik Singh, N R Gupta and C D Verma were also present in the meeting.
