JAMMU, Dec 17: J&K Sports Power Lifting Association organised a State Bench-Press, Deadlift and Power Lifting Championship for men and women at RKM Gym, Upper-Gummat, Kanji House, here.
The championship was organized to select State Bench-Press, Deadlift and Power Lifting team (men and women) for their participation in the upcoming International Bench-Press, Deadlift and Power Lifting Championship to be held at Milanee Hall, Jamshedpur, Bistupur from December 26 to 31.
The team has been selected by the association on merit basis in the presence of Rajan Jain, General Secretary, Narender Singh Manhas, Secretary, Preet Dutta, Joint Secretary, Ayaz Ahmed Butt, President Doda Sports Power Lifting Association and Ajay Sharma, Vice President.
The selected players are Vikrant Singh, Neha Badyal, Raza Rabbani, Vickramjeet Singh and Akshay Gupta.
Meanwhile, Surinder Kumar (93 kg category) and Mohammad Rafiq (105 kg category) have been selected for the trials for World Bench-Press Power Lifting Championship to be held at Texas, USA from April 19 to 22.
Rajan Jain, General Secretary will accompany the team along with Jagbir Singh Bhau as coaches whereas Nageshwar Singh will be the team manager.
In this International Championship, Zulfikar Ali, Minister for Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs will be the chief guest.
