Star Wars, Avengers rule Kids’ Choice Awards movie nomination

LOS ANGELES, Feb 3:  “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, “Jurassic World”, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Ant-Man” dominate the movie categories nomination list at the 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards.
Other films that are also up for the favourite film prize at the 29th annual ceremony are “Cinderella”, “Daddy’s Home”, “Pitch Perfect 2”, and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2”.
Stars from the various films such as Robert Downey Jr, Chris Pratt, Jennifer Lawrence, Rebel Wilson and Will Ferrell are consequently up for favourite actor and actress nods.
Animated movie and the voice talents are also getting recognised this year.
Amy Poehler, Jim Parsons and Selena Gomez are among those nominated for favourite voice from an animated movie. “Home (2015)”, “Inside Out (2015)”, and “Hotel Transylvania 2” are competing against “Minions”, “The Peanuts Movie” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip”.
The 22 categories also include TV, music, book and video game. “The Hunger Games” series is eyeing the favourite book prize against “Harry Potter” series and “The Maze Runner” series among others.
This year’s ceremony has also added favourite cooking show and music collaboration as categories.
The awards will be handed out on March 12 at Forum in Inglewood, California. Blake Shelton is hosting the event. (PTI)
