Stand up comedian Kapil Sharma lauds Modi’s ‘sense of humour’, PM thanks him

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday posted a series of tweets sharing his views on the interactions he had with Bollywood stars and noted cine personalities shared on the social network.

“When Kapil Sharma (stand up comedian) appreciates somebody’s humour, it sure makes that person happy and I am no exception. Thank you for the kind words Kapil,” Prime Minister wrote in a missive with a smile sign too.

The Prime Minister’s response comes to a tweet from Kapil Sharma wherein he said: “Respected PM Narendra Modi ji,it was nice meeting you and great knowing your inspiring ideas and progressive views about our film industry and our nation. And sir, I must say you have a great sense of humor too. regards”.

In his series of tweets, Prime Minister has thanked among others Asha Bhosle, Subhas Ghai and
Kunal Kohli.

“Asha Ji, thank you for gracing the programme with your presence. The entire nation looks up to you for your stupendous contribution to the film world,” Mr Modi wrote.

The famous playback singer Asha Bhosle had written: “With the PM of our beloved country and the President of my house. What a beautiful function today – the inauguration of India’s 1st museum of cinema spanning 100 years of Indian film making”.

In another response, Mr Modi wrote: “I enjoyed interacting with you and other members of the film fraternity. This community has been at the forefront of showcasing India’s culture internationally”.

In a missive marked to A R Rahman, Prime Minister wrote: “Happy to have met you”.

In his tweet to noted film maker Subhas Ghai, Mr Modi said: “We have several talented youngsters and we also have so many talented film personalities who can mentor these youth. Channelising this talent through such universities can be extremely beneficial”.

Mr Ghai on his part had written: “Cinema and animation universities are the need of the hour, said our PM Narendra Modi in Mumbai while inaugurating National Museum of Indian Cinema. Attended by best of bests of Mumbai film industry. It made be proud and humbled”.

Prime Minister was in Mumbai on Saturday and interacted with cine stars after inaugurating the National Museum of Indian Cinema.
