JAMMU, Oct 3: An auto driver, who attacked another auto driver in Jewel area yesterday with sharp edged weapon, has been arrested today by Nowabad Police.
As per police sources, two auto drivers namely Tarsem Lal of Tirlokpur and Romi of Bakshi Nagar engaged in a scuffle over carrying a passenger yesterday near Jewel. In a fit of rage, Tarsem Lal attacked Romi with a sharp edged weapon (kirch) and escaped from the spot.
Romi received deep wound on the left side of his chest and was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, where he is still undergoing treatment.
On specific inputs, a team from Nowabad Police Station conducted raid and arrested the stabber.
Further investigation into the case registered under relevant sections with Nowabad Police Station is going on.
Police team led by SHO Nowabad Inspector Neeraj Bhagat made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Pranav Mahajan and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
