St Peter’s HS celebrates Annual Sports Day with zeal, zest

JAMMU, Dec 21:  St. Peter’s High School’s Junior wing celebrated Sports Day in the school premises for the first time, with great Zeal and enthusiasm.
Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman of Team Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while Fr. Jose Vadake, Vice President of Jammu Srinagar Dioceses along with Fathers and Sisters of different schools were present on the occasion.
The celebration started with the welcome address by Fr. Thomas Niravathu, Principal of the School.
In his address he stressed on the need of having sports activities in the life of the students.
Students of Junior wing presented a soulful welcome dance. Tiny-tots presented the March Past with the values Peace, Unity, Brotherhood, Sacrifice and Tolerance. The chief guest took the salute of the March-Past.
Sports Flame was lit by Fr. Niravathu, Mr Zorwar Singh and carried by the students who have brought laurels to the institution which was followed by the declaration of the meet open.
The dance depicting importance of sports and games presented by children added colour to the show.
Importance of Yoga was depicted by toddlers in a beautiful manner.
The children in beautiful Pink and black attire presented aerobics. One leg race and Frog Race were the main highlights of the show. Bursting of balloons was another interesting race.
Winners of different games were honoured by the chief guest, who is also an alumnus of the St Peter’s High School. He also addressed the gathering and felt extremely glad to be a part of the celebration.
Recalling his good old days in this institution, he shared his experience with the students.
Mr Jamwal also threw light on the ill effects of drug abuse which is increasing day-by-day in the society.
The programme ended with a colourful Bhangra presented by enthusiastic toddlers.
