JAMMU, Jan 17: Railways Police today reviewed security arrangements at Jammu Railway Station and other places along the track ahead of Republic Day celebrations.
At a high level meeting of different agencies and departments, SSP Railways Shiv Kumar Sharma called for intensified vigil and security all along the track and Jammu Railway Station to ensure that the anti-national elements didn’t manage to take advantage of the situation.
Mr Sharma said the railway platform tickets would be strictly implemented from now onwards to reduce rush of people at the Railway Station, which had been causing inconvenience to the genuine passengers.
“It has been decided that platform tickets would be made mandatory for the people coming to the Railway Station’’, he said.
He added that all security agencies were asked to maintain round-the-clock vigil at Railway Station and the track ahead of January 26 to ensure peaceful celebrations of the event.
