Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, May 15: Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra(SSK) organized a workshop on the topic  “the  glorious achievements of Hindu civilization in Kashmir” . The main speaker on the occasion was a well known writer Pradeep Koul  Khodbali.
Prof T N Shalla Chairman of Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra presided over the function and Prof. Sandeep Pandita a social activist was guest of honour on the occasion.
Prof Shalla in his welcome address reminded the audience about the activities being carried out by Kendra.
Pradeep Koul while speaking on the topic with reference to ancient written history of Kashmir  i.e Neelmat Purana and Rajtarangni  made mention of Raja Ghonen, Raja Damodar and Rani Yushomati. This was during the period of Mahabharatta  where  we can clearly say that Kashmir was culturally and politically part of India. During the period of Raja Meghwahan , Rani Amrit Prabha, Ishan Devi and Roopa Devi Kashmir represented the brilliant example where people gave preference to knowledge than to dynasty.
While referring the period of 8th century during the rule of King Lalitaditya Kashmir reached the glory of power,  the advancing onslaught of Arbs was defeated  and his kingdom touched the frontiers of Iran and China.
Koul emphasized the need to understand Kashmir in its real perspective and defeat the designs of false propaganda.
Prof Sandeep Pandita while appreciating the activities of Kendra made a mention of making our new generation aware of our past history. Radhey Sham Ji conducted the proceedings.
