JAMMU, Jan 4: The 31st meeting of the Governing Body of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal was held here under the chairmanship of Dr. S. S. Bloeria, Member, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Chairman of the Governing Body of the Hospital.
The meeting took several important decisions for continuously strengthening various departments of the Superspeciality Hospital to meet the emerging requirements as also working towards developing this tertiary medical care hospital as a centre of excellence. In this context, the meeting emphasised the need for further enhancing the operational capacities of the core disciplines such as cardiology, oncology and orthopaedics as well as positioning of more medicos and equipments in various departments, wherever required.
Those who participated in the meeting included H. L. Maini, Member and Technical Consultant of the Shrine Board; besides, B. B. Vyas, Financial Commissioner, Planning and Development, who is also Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Hospital; and Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; both members of the Governing Body; Dr. M. K. Kumar, Additional CEO; Dr. (Brig) Man Mohan Harjai, Chief Administrative Officer, SMVDNSH; and other concerned officers from the Shrine Board side. Those who took part in the Governing Body meeting deliberations on behalf of NVDSHPL/NH included Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Vice Chairman, MD and Group CEO NH and member of the Governing Body of the Hospital; and Dr. Sirish Dhoble, Clinical Director, Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal.
Referring to the disaster management preparedness, Dr. Bloeria suggested that all required initiatives and interventions have to be taken and capacities built for most effectively responding to any emergency situations and trauma management. The Governing Body decided to organise a national level seminar by the hospital on capacity building of health sector on disaster preparedness.
While reviewing the to-date status of headway made for extending telemedicine consultation by the Superspeciality Hospital Kakryal to various remotely located areas, it was decided that the hospital will coordinate with the Health Department of J&K Government for working out the modalities for installation of telemedicine system to facilitate highly specialised consultation with the doctors of the SSH Kakryal.
The meeting also felt the need for construction of a bridge over Jhajjar Nallah on Domel-Kakryal-Panthal Road as well as provision of a rotary at take off point of Manthal-Kakryal Road from the highway for providing better access to the hospital and decided to take up the matter with the concerned authorities.
In his presentation, Dr. (Brig) Harjai informed the Governing Body about the to-date progress on organising public outreach programmes as part of providing free consultation services to the people nearer to their homes, adding that the hospital has so far organised 58 medical camps in various rural areas of the State and examined more than 11,000 patients suffering from different ailments and advised them suitably.
