SSA teachers protest for de-linking of salary, 7th Pay Commission

JAMMU/SRINAGAR, June 13: Demanding  implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of more than 41 thousands SSA teachers and de-linking their salaries from MHRD to State budget,  members of J&K Rehbar-e-Talim Teachers Forum held district level protest demonstrations across the State while Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum also staged a dharna  in support of the demand at Srinagar.
Amidst raising of slogans, the protesting SSA teachers at Srinagar marched towards the Civil Secretariat but Police foiled their attempt. Police also bundled the leaders of protesting teachers and detained them at Shaheed Gunj Police Station.
In district Ganderbal, hundreds of protesting teachers gathered in front of DC office under the leadership  of  State Chairman FA Tantray and District president Ganderbal Sofi Gull, who warned to go for  continue lock-out if their demands are not conceded.
In Udhampur, protest was led by the JKReTF Sr vice chairman Bhupinder Singh and district president Kuldeep Katoch. They addressed the gathering and warned the Government not to play with emotions of the SSA teachers
In Ramban, a massive protest demonstration was held by the Forum under the leadership of Provincial president Aftab Malik and district president Ramban Farooq Runyal. They took out a rally and staged dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Similar protest was held at Samba under the leadership of district president Dhruv Singh, while general secretary Jahangir Alam Khan and district president Aftab Tantray led the protest at Rajouri.

In Reasi,   the protest was led by district president Bhadur Singh while Sunil Bhardwaj, district president Kathua led the protest at Kathua.
Protest demonstrations at Doda, Kishtwar and Poonch were led by the respective district president Ishaq Rashid, Mohd.Hafeez and Hamid Nabaaz while State convener Ninu Latta led the protest at Jammu district.
Reports from Kupwara, Bandipura, Gurez, Kulgam, Baramula, Badgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag Leh and Kargil said that similar protests were held there.
In district Srinagar, protest was led district president Mushtaq Ahmed.
Meanwhile, Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum also held a peaceful dharna at Srinagar under the leadership of Abdul Qayoom Wani and State general secretary Ganesh Khajuria, against the callous attitude of the State Government towards both the demands.
The protesting teachers marched towards the Civil Secretariat but Police foiled their attempt. Police also bundled the leaders of protesting teachers and detained them at Shaheed Gunj Police Station for some time.
Those detained by the Police, included A Q Wani, Ganesh Khajuria, Subash Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma,   Dr Manjoor Ahmed, Kuldeep Bandral, Peer Nissar and others.
