SRINAGAR, Dec 27: President Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Abdul Qayoom Wani termed SRO 525 (Ban on using social media by employees) direct attack on right to freedom of speech and expression.
In a press statement here Wani said that right to freedom of speech and expression is a Fundamental Right of every citizen irrespective of caste, creed, colour, region and religion but by issuing this SRO Govt of Jammu and Kashmir has deprived employees from Fundamental Rights which is unjustified and is unacceptable to the employees of the State.
Employees Joint Action Committee demanded immediate withdrawal of this SRO and maintained that EJAC will fight against this draconian law at organisational level and on legal front as well if it was not revoked. He said EJAC leaders will knock the doors of court for revocation of this anti- employee SRO.
