SRINAGAR: Ahead of Republic Day and increasing militant threats, police checks identity proof of passengers in the city at different check points, on Saturday. Militants opened fire on Central Reserve Police Force personal (CRPF) patrolling party on near Hyderpora Byepass on Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway. Police and security forces also raised several check points at many places across Kashmir valley as militants might have entered into residential areas due to heavy snowfall in forests and border areas.
