JAMMU, Apr 7: The Inter-Departmental Sports Meet organized by the Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) concluded in the College Campus, here today.
The players/athletes took part in sports disciplines of Badminton, Cricket, Carrom, Chess, Volleyball, Table Tennis and Tug of War.
Earlier, Dr Sameru Sharma, Principal GCET inaugurated the event, while while speaking on the occasion said that sports play pivotal role for mental and physical development of the body.
All the sportspersons participated with sportsman spirit in various events during the meet.
Zeeshan, Mehul, Amandeep Singh, Abhijeet Singh and Priya won the athletics competitions in various categories, while Anuj and Pallavi were the winners in Table Tennis; Manmohan and Sukhpreet emerged chess champions and Sunidhi, Pallavi, Raghav, Shahid and Manmohan were declared winners of Badminton singles, doubles and Carrom competitions.
The Principal of the School lauded the efforts of the students for their performances, while the programme was held under the supervision of Dr Rajinder Gupta, Convener Sports Committee.
