Special handloom expo concludes

JAMMU, Jan 30: A special handloom expo organized by Department of Handloom Development concluded today at Katra.
In the expo, handloom products including pashmina shawls, stoles, silk sarees, blankets and other woolen and cotton items were displayed.
Huge rush was witnessed during the 15-days long expo and sales worth more than Rs 250 lakh was conducted by around 60 societies, who participated in this expo.
On the concluding ceremony, Showkat A Zargar, Managing Director, J&K State Handloom Development Corporation distributed the medals and certificates among the participants in presence of RK Sharma, Director, Jammu and Kashmir Handloom Development Corporation.
While speaking, Sharma assured all possible help to organize such events in future also.
Among others present were Vinod Kumar, GM, Jammu and Kashmir Handloom Development Corporation, Om Singh, SSE, Tahir Hakim, AD, WSC Srinagar, Arun Tandon, AO and Anjeet Bhat, SA.
