Special Football camp at DPS Kathua concludes

KATHUA, Oct 20: Organised at Delhi Public School (DPS) Rajbagh in district Kathua, the special week-long football coaching camp for school students of under-17 years of age, concluded with valedictory function, here today.
The camp, collaborated by Mehta Football Academy and Sports Saviors, was conducted by international footballer of J&K, Arun Mahotra in support with a technical team.
In the concluding function, Minister for Forests, Lal Singh was chief guest, who encouraged the young participants and appreciated the trainers for guiding young talented stuff from the district.
Speaking to the gathering, Minister assured State Football Academy (SFA) f or Kathua in the near future on the lines of recently opened such facility in Jammu by the J&K State Sports Council. He was all praise for international footballer player and member State Sports Council, Arun Malhotra for sparing his time for the camp.
He appreciated Youth Services and Sports department and Sports Council for proposing football clubs in every nook and corner of the State. He asked the twin sports bodies to work in same spirit and take steps to revive hockey in the State. “The government is trying every bit to create world class sports facilities for the local talent to flourish. Our youth has already proved their mettle in the recent sports events at national and international levels,” Singh said.
He said that participation of J&K youth in national and international events reflects that Jammu and Kashmir State has vast sports talent which can earn a good name in the world of games.
Joint Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma and veteran national footballer, Vipin Gupta were the guests of honour. Rakesh Dubey (former national footballer), Vishal Badral, Sahil Lotra, Parul Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Abhinav Mehta and Arun Jasrotia were among other special guests.
Important to mention here that the full support in the form of transportation and refreshment was extended by DPS Rajbagh Kathua.
Earlier, Principal of the School, Nirmal Mahana presented a detailed report of the camp amidst appreciation for Arun Mahotra and his technical team as also supporting staff of the school.
In the meantime, Arun Malhotra, who always help those talented and budding footballers naming them find of the camp, presented sports kits to five such boys.
Later, Arun, expressed his satisfaction over the initiative taken by the DPS Kathua and other individuals and organisations.
He said, “Likewise in Jammu, district Kathua too needs SFA so as to find the talent and then groom them into international footballers.”
