JAMMU, Aug 2: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today launched construction of lanes and drains at Ward No. 46 Sanjay Nagar, Jammu.
The work will be executed by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) at an estimated cost of Rs 20 lakh.
On the occasion, Speaker said, “development works across Gandhi Nagar constituency are in full swing and instructions have been issued to cover each and every pocket.” He said that the Government is resolved to create better living conditions for the people. The Speaker also interacted with the people of the area and took stock of their grievances, especially related to water and power supply.
The people of the area put forth various demands including construction of a Nallah and the lanes and drains in other parts of the locality.
He assured that all their grievances will be redressed and directed the concerned officers to take the requisite steps in this regard. Kavinder said that participation of the people is must for need based and effective development and called for better public partaking in strengthening the initiatives of the Government.
