Speaker inaugurates water supply pipeline

JAMMU, Dec 28: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today inaugurated water supply pipeline in Bhagatpura, Channi Himmat constructed at a cost of Rs 40 lakh, to augment the water supply scenario in the locality.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said that multiple development works are being executed in the area to ensure that basic necessities of the people are fulfilled.
Reiterating Government’s commitment to provide clean and safe drinking water to people, the Speaker said that several initiatives are being taken by the present dispensation to cater to the area specific requirements of the people regarding potable water supply.
He informed the people that to ensure sanitation in schools and to provide students with a clean environment, new toilet blocks are being constructed in various schools in the locality.
Later, the Speaker inspected various ongoing development works in the area including work for construction of three classrooms at Higher Secondary School Channi Himmat being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 27 lakh and blacktopping work at Thangar Pully upto Dilawar Mir Mohalla, Channi Himmat Ward No 51 being executed by PWD (R&B) with an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh.
The locals also apprised the Speaker of various issues related to development and welfare of their respective areas.
He assured the people that all their issues would be looked into for redressal in a time bound manner.
