Speaker announces Rs 15 lakh for various upgradation works in Channi-Himmat

JAMMU, Dec 17: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today announced Rs 15 lakh for multiple development works in Channi Himmat area.
Kavinder Gupta announced this while addressing a public meet in the area. He said that various essential works including that for upgradation of link roads, construction of drains, installation of electrical poles and beautification of parks will be taken up.
The Speaker said that  a systematic development plan has been formulated for the constituency which is being executed in a phased manner.
He also convened public meetings at Trikuta Nagar and Gangyal areas wherein people presented their grievances and demands including improvement in link road connectivity, upgradation of lanes and drains, drinking water besides beautification of parks in the localities and sought his intervention in resolving these matters at the earliest.
Kavinder assured the public of early action on their genuine demands, as the Government is committed to development and welfare of the people and is taking keen interest in mitigating the problems being faced by the public at large.
He said aim of conducting such public meetings is to address public grievances at grass root level and assured the people that their basic needs will be catered to at an  earliest.
He informed the people that about Rs 3.75 crore have already been spent on various road development works in Gandhi Nagar constituency, adding that  efforts are underway to make Gandhi Nagar a model constituency. As part of these efforts, directions have been passed to the concerned to ensure installation of traffic lights in the area to avoid accidents, besides other efforts have been initiated so that people may not suffer any inconvenience.
The Speaker also inspected the completed upgradation works on Langer Hall at Shiv Mandir, Jawahar Nagar in Satwari. He also inaugurated lanes and drains in Shastri Nagar, behind Laxmi Mandir. Responding to public issues, he assured that damaged transformers of the area would be replaced as soon as possible for adequate power supply.
