JAMMU, Dec 4: Inter-Battalion Sports Meet organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police entered third day here today.
In Table Tennis, SP Sumit Kotwal will take on SSP Swaran Singh Kotwal in the final. Earlier in the first semis, SP Sumir Kotwal defeated DySP Daljit Singh, whereas in the second semis, SSP Swaran Singh Kotwal registered win over SP Nasir Khan.
In Lawn Tennis, SP Nasir Khan defeated SSP Swaran Singh Kotwal in the quarterfinal and sailed into semis.
In Basket Ball, IRP-17th Battalion will clash with IRP-19th Battalion in the summit clash. Earlier, IRP-17th Battalion defeated JKAP-9th Battalion in the first semifinal, whereas IRP-19th Battalion crushed IRP-7th Battalion in the second semis.
In Volleyball, IRP 1st Battalion smashed JKAP-7th Battalion in the quarterfinal match by 2-0 sets and registered berth in the semis.
In Football, JKAP-9th Battalion registered win over JKAP-7th Battalion and entered into summit clash, whereas in Handball, IRP-15th Battalion and IRP-17th Battalion entered into semifinal by smashing their rival teams IRP-14th Battalion and JKAP-7th Battalion.
In Kabaddi, IRP-1st Battalion, IRP-10th Battalion, JKAP-12th Battalion and JKAP-7th Battalion registered wins and sailed into next stage, whereas in Hockey, IRP-3rd Battalion entered into final by outplaying IRP-20th Battalion by 4-1 goals.
In Athletics (1500 meters), Follower Imtiyaz Ahmad of IRP-10th Battalion, Constable Maqsood Ahmad of IRP-17th Battalion and Constable Mahaveer Prasad of IRP-15th Battalion secured first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in High Jump, Constable Maninder Singh of IRP-19th Battalion, Constable Amrish Sharma of IRP-10th Battalion and Constable Maqsood Ahmad of IRP-17th Battalion bagged first, second and third positions respectively, in Cross Country Men (10 KM Individual), Follower Imtiyaz Ahmad of IRP-10th Battalion, Constable Mahaveer Prasad of IRP-15th Battalion and Constable Younis Ali of IRP-15th Battalion clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In Cross Country Men (10 KM Team Event), IRP-15th Battalion team comprising of Constable Mahaveer Prasad, Joginder Kumar, Constable Younis Ali and Constable Bahadur Singh bagged first position, whereas the second position was clinched by IRP-10th Battalion team comprising of Follower Imtiyaz Ahmad, Constable Amrish Sharma, Constable Parveen Kumar and Constable Bal Krishan. The third position was secured by IRP-14th Battalion team comprising of Constable Rinku Sharma, Constable Vikas Sharma, Constable Sikander Singh and Constable Sachin Verma.
In Discus Throw (Men), Constable Aadil Rehman of IRP-20th battalion, Constable Bachitter Singh of JKAP-14th Battalion and Constable Maninder Singh of IRP-19th Battalion secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In wrestling (Women) Constable Suprita Bandral of IR-15th Battalion and Constable Anuradha of IRP-15th Battalion emerged winner and runner-up respectively in 50 kgs category, whereas in 53 kgs category, Constable Asha Devi of IRP-15th Battalion and Constable Sheetu Pandita of IRP-15th Battalion emerged winner and runner-up respectively, in 55 kgs category, Constable Kanta Devi of IRP-15th Battalion and Constable Shahnaz Akhter of IRP-15th Battalion emerged winner and runner-up respectively, in 57 kgs category, Constable Darshana Devi of IRP-15th Battalion and Constable Veena Devi of IRP-15th Battalion emerged winner and runner-up respectively, in 59 kgs category, in 59 kgs category, Constable Devi Rani of IRP-15th Battalion and Constable Manorama of IRP-15th Battalion emerged winner and runner-up respectively, in 62 kgs category, Constable Anisha Devi of IRP-15th Battalion and Constable Suriya Bano of IRP-15th Battalion emerged winner and runner-up respectively, in 65 kgs category, Constable Bandana Kumari of IRP-15th Battalion and Constable Dimple Billoria of IRP-15th Battalion emerged winner and runner-up respectively, in 68 kgs category, Constable Yasmeen Kousar of IRP-15th Battalion and Constable Nisha Koul of IRP-15th Battalion emerged winner and runner-up respectively, in 72 kgs category, Constable Fatima Bibi of IRP-15th Battalion and Constable Pooja Devi of IRP-15th Battalion emerged winner and runner-up respectively and in 76 kgs category, Constable Asha Jamwal and Constable Maryam Khatoon of IRP-15th Battalion emerged winner and runner-up respectively.
In Archery 30 meters (Women), SgCt Maryam Khatoon of IRP-15th Battalion, SgCt Manorama of IRP-15th Battalion and SgCt Asha Jamwal of IRP-15th Battalion bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in Archery 50 meters (Women), SgCt Maryam Khatoon of IRP-15th Battalion, Constable Sheetu Pandita of IRP-15th Battalion and SgCt Manorama of IRP-15th Battalion secured first, second and third positions respectively.
