JAMMU, Dec 11: SP South Jammu, Vinay Sharma today reviewed security situation in Trikuta Nagar area in the wake up of back to back theft cases reported from the locality.
The SP along with Vipin Chandran, SDPO East and Pervez Sajjad, SHO Trikuta Nagar, visited Trikuta Nagar area where he interacted with residents of Sector 7 and addressed their concerns regarding panic in senior citizens due to repeated theft cases in the locality.
Inhabitants told the police officers that in last 15 days two scooties have been stolen from the locality while one was traced and recovered by the owner himself, other is still untraced. The SP South instructed his team to implement initiatives like Motorcycle patrolling in the night to keep check on theft cases.
He suggested SHO to have regular interactions with senior citizens living alone in the locality. He also advised residents to install CCTV cameras in front of their houses and GPRS in their vehicle to prevent thefts in the society.
Vinay Sharma also suggested the SDPO and the SHO to prepare a data base of the Safaikaramcharies and Rehriwalas and tracked them regularly. The officer requested residents to report any suspicious activity in the locality. The SP also suggested civil society to remain vigil and shared with them contacts of his team members for emergency and any assistance required further.
