SP-BSP responsible for migration of people from western parts of UP: Shah

LUCKNOW, Jan 29:  BJP President Amit Shah has blamed the present  Samajwadi Party and the previous Bahujan Samaj Party Government for migration of people from minority-dominated areas of western UP.
“Migration in Western UP is only because of the appeasement politics practiced by SP and BSP. If there were rule of law, this wouldn’t have happened. Migration is happening because police register FIRs looking into the caste and religion of the complainant. We need to put an end to this,” he said.
Claiming that BJP expected two-thirds majority for sure in UP Assembly polls, Shah indicated that  BJP’s main opponent was the SP-Cong alliance and BSP would be in the third spot. In an interview to a private news channel, Mr Shah admitted that not projecting a CM’s face in UP was a decision taken by  parliamentary board of the party.
“There are many states like Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra where we have done the same thing still won the polls. I can tell you, whomsoever our face will be is better than the existing faces in the running,” he assured.
Talking about the law and order collapse which has turned into a a major issue in UP polls, the BJP president said, law and order issue affects every community, especially the socially backward.
This hastens migration, he added. Addressing the sugarcane farmers of western and central UP, Mr Shah claimed that no Government in the country has addressed the issues of sugarcane farmers.
“The Modi Government has been working on this front right from the beginning. Import of raw sugar was curbed, helping farmers get better prices. We subsidised exports. But despite all this, they didn’t get their payments.
We have promised in the UP manifesto that the Rs 6,000-crore pending as payment will be distributed to sugarcane farmers within 120 days of our party coming to power in UP. We will set up a system where cane farmers get their payment within 14 days,” he added. (UNI)
