Soybean futures up on global cues

NEW DELHI, Mar 5: Soybean prices firmed up by Rs 52 to Rs 3,833 per quintal in futures trade today on widening of bets by the speculators taking strong indications from global markets.
Market players said rising prices globally encouraged traders to build up fresh positions, which reflected the uptrend in soybean futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange platform, soybean delivery for the immediate contract March month gained by Rs 52 or 1.38 per cent to Rs 3,833 per quintal, depicting an open interest of 1,34,780 lots.
The delivery for the most traded near contract April month also advanced by Rs 48 or 1.25 per cent to Rs 3,881 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 1,82,070 lots. (PTI)
