Soybean futures drop on weak global cues

NEW DELHI, June 8: Soybean prices fell by Rs 22 to Rs 3,507 per quintal in futures trade today on liquidation of holdings by the traders in line with weak overseas leads.
Market players said traders were cautious due to  weakening trend overseas owing to ample stocks and muted demand, which influenced soybean futures prices downside.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean delivery for the July contract slipped by Rs 22, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 3,507 per  quintal, with an open interest of  1,07,220 lots.
In a similar way, the delivery of the current contract fell by Rs 18, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 3,482 per quintal, with a business turnover in 45,640 open lots. (PTI)
