Soybean futures decline on weak global cues

NEW DELHI, July 13: Soybean prices slumped by Rs 48 to Rs 2,990 per quintal in futures trading today following offloading of positions by participants, taking subdued cues from global market.

Marketmen said the fall in soybean prices at futures trading was mostly attributed to trimming of positions by participants, triggered by a weak trend in global markets on higher inventories.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean for delivery in August drifted lower by Rs 48, or 1.58 per cent, to Rs 2,990 per quintal, in an open interest of 76,860 lots.

Soybean for delivery this month too came down by Rs 36, or 1.22 per cent, to Rs 2,903 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,390 lots. (PTI)
