JAMMU, Mar 25: Our society needs enlightened and righteous individuals as leaders who could draw the strength from religion to lead the society to achieve real harmony among the people and afford them a decent living free from individual human distrust and disrespect for each other’s religious faith.
This was stated by Swami Paul Ji, spiritual head of Swami Paul’s Meditation Home during a discourse on the concluding day of the Navratra Festival which culminated with ‘Purnahuti’ of Maha Gayatri Yagna on Maha Navmi today.
A large number of devotees drawn from various areas took part in the festival.
During the discourse, Swami Paul stressed the need for transformation of the minds of the leaders through religious inspiration so that they could rise above the narrow personal motives and shun the lust of power and money and work for more sincerely for the service of the nation.
In the present social scenario Swami Ji pointed out that religion based perception of life and living in the glory of the divine is more relevant and of utmost urgency for maintenance of peace and tranquility in the social order.
He said the rampant materialism and ever increasing hunger for power and greed for money can only be overcome by following the path of religion, adding that the religions are being exploited for narrow political gains is a matter of concern.
“The time demands that the politicians and other leaders should maintain the purity of mind and firmness of conviction and work to enlighten people to understand the universally believed fact that God is one, His presence is not confirmed to one place, He is present everywhere and religion is the path to reach near him. Social leaders should teach the society to react to any incident of communal tension as simple human being and not as Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Sikhs,” Swami Ji maintained.
Swami ji further added that Sri Rama eternally manifests His infinite existence, in infinitely diversified forms.
