Snowfall in parts of HP

SHIMLA, Apr 21:
Higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh received light to moderate snowfall, disrupting  the normal life in the tribal districts as the mercury dipped to minus and vehicular traffic was also disrupted in the last 24 hours.
Report arriving here saidthat Keylong district headquarter of Lahaul Spiti got 13 cm snowfall and  Gondala seven cm. 13050 ft high Rohtang Pass got one to two feet fresh snowfall, Higher reaches  of Lahaul Spiti also recorded heavy snowfall in the late winter season.
Vehicular traffic was disrupted due to closing down of Manali-Keylong Highway, moreover the BRO  opening Keylong -Leh road at Baralalcha have to be suspended for the snow clearance operation for last  two days due to frequent snowfall and inclement weather.
Hailstorm hit Kalbog area of Chopal, affecting the apple crop in the entire areas.  On Friday, Himari village was also hit by hail storm. Sayri and Sarighat area of Solan were also  lashed by hailstorm.
Manali got 31 mm rain till 0830 hrs, Banjar in Kullu, Dalhousie of Chamba & Ghumarwin of Bilaspur  received 25 mm rain each, Bhuntar in Kullu received 24 mm rain, Saloni in Chamba 23 mm, Seobagh  in Kullu & Bijahi in Mnaid 22  mm each, Pooh in Kinnuar 20 mm, Bharmaur of Chamba 19 mm,  Dharamshala in Kangra 18 mm.
Sundernagar in Mandi received 17 mm, Gaggal in Kangra received 15 mm, Chamba received 13 mm,  Karsog in Mandi, Kumarsen in Shimla, Naina Devi in Bilaspur, Palampur in Kangra & Kalpa in Kinnuar  received 12 mm rain each.
Jhanjehli  & Pandoh in Mandi 11 mm each, Rampur in Shimla & Baijnath in Kangra 9 mm each, Reckong Peo in Kinnuar 8 mm , Kandaghat of Solan and Rajgarh of Sirmaur 7 mm each.
Keylong was coldest in the state with minimum temperature at minus 1.1 degrees and nearly four degree below normal, Manali one degrees and Kalpa 2.4 degrees Celsius, Shimla was low at nine degrees and three degrees down the normal.
Chamba recorded lowest temperature at 9.6 degrees C, Bhuntar 9.2 degrees C, Dalhouse 6.7 degrees C, Dharamshala and Kangra recorded 10.6 degrees C, Palampur, Solan and Sundernagar in Mandi 12 degrees C each, Una and Hamirpur 14.7 degrees C, Bilaspur 15.7 degrees C, Nahan in Sirmaur 16.3 degrees C and Mandi 16 .4 degrees C.
The Met office has forecast mainly dry weather in the next 24 hours. (UNI)
