SMVDSB sponsored Sports Camp for rural youth concludes

JAMMU, June 29: Ten days Coaching Camp in sports organized by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi at Sports Complex Katra in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Tug of War and Volleyball concluded in an impressive and well attended function, here today.
The Camp culminated with the presentation of impressions and experience of the trainees about the quantum of activities, coaching and conditioning etc.
Dr Arvind Karwani, Deputy Chief Executive Officer was the chief guest on the occasion, who interacted with the players and coaches.
In his address he asked them to play in the spirit of sportsmanship and advised them to keep all records of teaching, practical skills and technical knowledge preserved to make its use at appropriate time.
Ashok Kumar, Director Sports SMVDSB said that the Coaching Camp in which 48 selected Campers representing the rural and far flung areas of Arnas, Gaari, Pouni, Reasi, Charai and near-by places of Katra actively participated in the Camp, wherein the participants were imparted both intensive and extensive fitness training and specialized coaching by the experts in accordance with the capacity of the trainees.
All the participants were awarded with the participation certificates by Dr Karwani and Director Sports in the concluding ceremony, which was aimed at encouraging healthy participation of youth from rural areas to the state of the art facilities, essential for upgrading skills and achieve goals.
Among others coaches, assistant managers and large number of sports persons were present on the occasion.
