KATRA, Dec 13: In order to review the security arrangements for pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Deviji, a joint review meeting of Shrine Board and District administration, Reasi, was held at the Spiritual Growth Centre at Katra today.
Simrandeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; Dr. Sagar Dattatray Doifode, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi; Nisha Nathyal, SSP Reasi; Jitendra Kumar Gupta, Commandant, 6th Bn. CRPF; Amit Vermani, Dy. CEO, SMVDSB; Ashok Kumar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Katra; Naresh Singh, Additional SP, Katra; P. C. Tanoch, Executive Engineer, SMVDSB and other concerned officers and engineers of the Shrine Board participated in the meeting.
The overall security scenario of the shrine was discussed in the meeting especially in view of the new year peak that the yatra witnesses on 31st December. Besides, various long and short term measures that are required to be taken for strengthening the security grid of the yatra routes, vital installations etc., came up for discussion in the meeting.
It was decided that wherever required additional CCTV Cameras, more number of luggage as well as material x-ray scanners will be installed and other arrangements strengthened to enhance the vigil for ensuring quick and coordinated response of security agencies dealing with the security of the shrine.
SSP Reasi gave a detailed presentation of concerns of security agencies for a speedy response from Shrine Board. The security forces were assured by the CEO, Shrine Board of immediate action to meet their infrastructural requirements especially in view of the added infrastructure like Passenger Ropeway system etc., which have been added on the yatra route in recent times.
The CEO also stressed for undertaking extensive patrolling all along the track, particularly on Tarakote Marg.
