SKUAST-J holds 15th meeting of Board of Studies of Faculty of PG Studies

JAMMU, Jan 15: The 15th meeting of Board of Studies of Faculty of Post Graduate Studies of SKUAST-Jammu was held today here under the chairmanship of Prof TAS Ganai, Director Education.
At the outset, Director Education extended a warm welcome to all the Professors of Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry and Faculty of Basic Sciences including senior Professors viz Prof DP Abrol, Dean FoA, Prof Rizvi, Dean FBSc, Prof VK Razdan, Librarian, Prof MS Bhadwal, Controller Examination Cell, Prof SK Gupta, Prof Rakesh Nanda, Prof JS Soodan, Prof RK Tagger, Prof Rajiv Singh, Prof Mohammad Altaf Bhat, Prof Sushil Sharma, Prof Jyoti Kachroo, Prof Hafeez Ahmed, Prof Anil Gupta, Prof Rajinder Peshin, Prof R.K Gupta, Prof RK Salgotra, Prof Sanjay Khar, Prof MA Malik, Prof RK Pandey and all the members of Board of Studies including Associate Professors and other members nominated by Vice-Chancellor.
The agendas of the meeting were presented by Dr Parshant Bakshi, Member Secretary that includes adoption of University Grant Commission for issuance of certificate of minimum standards and procedure for award of PhD degree, inclusion of Research Methodology as compulsory course, institutionalization of PhD in microbiology, revision in remuneration of contractual faculty, prevention of plagiarism in higher studies, inclusion of anti-plagiarism certificate as part of thesis, modification in regulations for oral comprehensive examination.
In the concluding remarks, Prof TAS Ganai stressed on adhering to regulations and framing of such curricula which gives exposure to the students that will help in their overall development and placement for higher studies both at national and international level.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks from Dr Parshant Bakshi, Member Secretary, Board of Studies, Faculty of PG Studies.
