JAMMU, May 29: Agriculture University Jammu Alumni Association (AUJAA) of SKUAST-J today held its general body meet in which new office bearers of the Association were elected for the next term.
Dr V S Verma was elected as president, Dr Vivek M Arya as general secretary, B B Sidha as senior vice president, Dr Meenakshi Gupta as vice president, Dr Bhupesh Sharma as joint secretary, Dr Anil Gupta as treasurer and Dr Jai Kumar as publicity secretary. Eleven executive members were nominated by the general house to maintain public relation of the Association in each district of Jammu province.
Dr R K Arora, Associate Director Extension was the returning officer while Dr D P Abrol, Dean FoA, SKUAST-J & Patron of AUJAA was the chief guest on the occasion. A K Malhotra, Director Agriculture and an alumnus of SKUAST-J was guest of honour in the meeting, which was attended by the serving as well as retired officers from the departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture and SKUAST-J.
The outgoing president of AUJAA, Dr S K Sudan gave an account of the activities of the previous years while Dr Anil Gupta, Treasurer presented the account of the Association before the House.
R L Bhagat, Chief Agriculture Officer presented the vote of thanks. The proceedings of the general body meeting were conducted by Dr Vivek M Arya.
