SRINAGAR, Feb 1: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today said that Kashmir needs no advertisement to sell it as tourist destination but some time situation adversely affects the tourism of this place.

What lacks is that sometimes the situation here deteriorates which adversely impacts the tourism”, she told reporters on the sidelines of inauguration of Snow Carnival at Gulmarg.
Mehbooba hoped that with snowfall in Gulmarg lot of tourists will arrive here and film stars will shoot films here. “…but I am very happy that Allah blessed us with the snowfall occurred and tourists started to arrive and film stars are also coming. Imran Khan (actor) has started shooting of movie ‘Sargoshiya’ and many other film stars are expected to shoot here and in Pahalgam just as Salman Khan shot for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. So I am hopeful”, she said.
The Chief Minister appealed people of the country to visit Kashmir and enjoy beauty of the place. “Today we have organized this snow festival and all snow related games are in this like boarding, skating, snow-cycling. Also, we have renovated Maharaja Hari Singh sahab’s palace here. There are lots of activities for children and elders here. The snow will be here till March and then we will have to wait for one year. So, I request people of my country that Kashmir’s snow and people are waiting for you. Come and enjoy the beautiful Valley”, she added.
“This kind of snow has taken place after many years in Kashmir and I hope people and tourists of our country will come to Kashmir and will benefit from this snow-clad Valley because we have organized snow festival in which we organized games for children like snow-boarding, skating… and skiing in particular. All the facilities are in place. I am happy that Imran has shot Sargoshiya here and I hope that other bollywood film stars would also come. I hope Kashmir will be included in all films like past because there would be no snow after March and I urge people to come along with children and enjoy Valley and also see Gulmarg”, she said.
Mehbooba said that there is lot of scope for sports in Valley particularly winter sports. “It is a good beginning…There is lot of scope for sports in Valley, particularly winter sports, so we are trying to provide more and more facilities.
