JAMMU, Feb 9: A ceremonial Border personnel meeting on the occasion of the ‘Chinese Spring Festival’ was held today at Chinese Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) huts in Chushul and Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) sectors of Eastern Ladakh.
Defence spokesperson (MoD) Col SD Goswami said at Chushul, the delegations were led by Brig RS Raman of Indian Army and Senior Col Qian Youu Wu of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China. At the DBO, the delegations were led by Col BS Uppal and Lt Col Duan Yugang of Indian Army and PLA respectively.
Col Goswami said the ceremonial border personnel  meeting was marked by hoisting of national flags by both the delegations, followed by the opening address by the delegation leaders.
The proceedings reflected the mutual desire of maintaining and improving relations at functional level at the border. Thereafter, a cultural programme showcasing vibrant Chinese cultural and traditional grandeur was organized.
Both the delegations interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment.  The delegation parted amidst feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), Col Goswami said.
A couple of days back, the Sino-Indian Army officials had conducted joint military exercises along the LAC in Eastern Ladakh to boost ties and mutual cooperation.
