JAMMU, June 27: Simula Cricket Club (SCC) and Gandhi Nagar Cricket Club (GNCC) crushed opponents in their respective league matches and registered berths in the next stage of the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup, being played at KC Public School cricket ground here.
The first match of the day was played between New Challenger Cricket Club (NCCC) and Simula Cricket Club (SCC).
Electing to bat first after winning the match, NCCC scored 124 runs in 19.4 overs. Rahul Mussa was top scorer with 32 runs, whereas Ashu made 20 runs.
From SCC side, Aman Singh was wrecker-in-chief with 3 wickets and Kuldeep Singh scalped 2 wickets.
In reply, SCC chased the target in 18 over for the loss of 6 wickets. Puneet Kumar scored 41 runs and Shashi made 39 runs.
From NCCC side, Ram Dayal took 2 wickets and Manjeet Singh took 1 wicket.
Puneet Kumar of SCC was declared as man of the match.
The second match of the day was played between Gandhi Nagar Cricket Club (GNCC) and Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence (YSCE).
Batting first after winning the toss, YSCE scored 93 runs in 20 overs. Dikshant and Vivek scored 24 and 23 runs respectively.
From GNCC side, Varinder took 2 wickets and Abhinav took 1 wicket.
In the second inning, GNCC chased the target in 12.5 over for the loss of just 2 wickets. Abhinav scored 37 runs and Gulshan made 24 runs.
Abhinav of GNCC was adjudged as man of the match.
Westside coupons worth Rs 500 were presented to the winners of man of the match titles.
