Simula Cricket Club to lock horns with KC Sports Club in final today

JAMMU, Dec 15: Simula Cricket Club will lock horns with KC Sports Club in the final of the 6th Christmas T20 Cricket Championship, being organized under the banner of Christian Sports Organization Jammu, Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu and Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu and supported by Diocese of Jammu at Parade ground, here tomorrow.
In today’s matches, Cricketer Promoter of J&K Hilal Rather was the special guest who interacted with the players and conveyed his wishes.
Earlier in first semifinal match, Simula Cricket Club defeated Road & Safety Department team by 4 wickets.
Batting first, Road & Safety Department scored 131 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Adil Rishi scored 67 runs, while Istiaq made 20 runs and Khalid scored 17 runs.
From the bowling side, Vivek took 3 wickets, Vikram scalped 2 wickets while Shashi and Raman Dutta pocketed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Simula Cricket Club chased the target in 19th over by losing 6 wickets and won the match by 4 wickets. Puneet scored 61 runs, Raman chipped in 19 runs and Shashi made 15 runs.
From the bowling side, Ishtiaq took 3 wickets, while Shokat and Bhalwan took 1 wicket each.
Puneet was declared as Man of the Match.
In second semifinal match, KC Sports Club defeated Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor by 5 wickets.
Batting first, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor scored 127 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Amir made 46 runs, while Manik scored 24 runs and Sumit chipped in 23 runs.
From the bowling side, Abhinav took 3 wickets, Gagan took 2 wickets while Arjun, Vicky and Vivek scalped 1 wicket each.
In reply, KC Sports chased the target in 16.4 overs for the loss of 5 wickets and won the match by 5 wickets. Arjun made 57 runs, while Vishal scored 22 runs and Abhishant chipped in 13 were.
From the bowling side, Sunil took 4 wickets, while Happy scalped 1 wicket.
Arjun Choudhary was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Ashok, Sanju and Vijay.
After final match tomorrow, there will an exhibition match for the budding kids of U-10 years–a special initiative by Zonal Police and Christian Sports Organization, followed by prize distribution function, informed Rajesh Gill, Organizing Secretary of the Championship.
