JAMMU, Apr 15: A Sikh leader has appealed the Sikh Community to cast their vote in favour of Congress-NC coalition candidate from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary seat, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Addressing media persons here at Simbal Camp, Rajinder Singh said, “Azad has made great contributions for the development of J&K State by giving two Super Specialty Hospitals one each in Jammu and Kashmir Valley to provide people of J&K super specialty medical care in their home State.”
He said it was during Chief Ministership of Azad, when compensation of 1.5 lakh was sanctioned to refugees of 1947. He also added that during the framing of new administrative units, new 8 districts in J&K, Roshni Act and many more were the brainchild of Azad.
Sikhism is a secular religion and it is our moral duty to make strong the hands of secular forces so that they could fight against communal forces, he asserted.
