JAMMU, Sept 24: A peaceful candle march was taken out from the Gurdwara Digiana Ashram near here, today by the various Sikh organizations of the State under the banner of Sikh United Front J&K which was led by its president S. Sudershan Singh Wazir Ex-president J&K State Gurdwara Prabandhak Board against the killing of Sikh youth namely Gurpreet Singh who was travelling along with the another Sikh youth for studying purpose in Delhi.
The other organizations which participated in the procession  including Shiromani Akali Dal, AISSF, Bhai Kanahya Nishkam Sewa Society, Sikh Welfare Society, Sikh Nauwan Sabha, Members DGPC Jammu, Sikh Sangat J&K
The protesters said an anti social element smoke a cigarette on their face deliberately when the two Sikh youth were taking breakfast at the Dhaba. The Sikh youth objected his action. The goon who was also sitting in the Dhaba was smoking and he became amicable with the youth and with the intentions to kill them, he took his car when they were about to leave for further journey and hit them all of sudden which resulted into the death of Gurpreet Singh and another Sikh youth was seriously injured. Terming it a cold blooded murder and holding Dhaba walas also responsible for allowing such persons to smoke while taking food etc.  when smoking is already prohibited in public places.
The Sikh organizations in one voice demanded stern action against the culprit  under Section 302 IPC and also association expressed grave concern over the non seriousness of Government agencies who are not checking such violations and it is further demanded that Government should issue strict advisory that in public places, particularly in hotels and restaurants etc., prohibition of smoking should be fully implemented and as per the observations of Supreme Court in such like incidents where murder has been committed due to enmity, the provisions of 302 IPC  be invoked and in the instant case enmity is the root cause of death and injury.
The Sikh organizations of the State have assured S. Manjit Singh, President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee every support and cooperation for his efforts in raising the issue with the Home Minister of India and other Government authorities.

Rasbir Singh, , S. Manmohan Singh, S. Dharminder Singh, S. Charanbir Singh Laad, Rajinder Singh.
