JAMMU, May 29: A Sub Inspector (SI) of the Traffic Police Department has been suspended for indulging in dubious activities
As per official sources, a SI of Traffic Police Department namely Sunil Kumar along with SPO Parveet Kumar stopped a truck at Sidhra naka due to one way restrictions on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Later, a scuffle broke out between driver and conductor of the truck with the traffic cops.
The driver forcibly put Rs 100 in the hand of the SPO, which the latter accepted and SI Sunil Kumar did not objected to it.
As the higher authorities in the Traffic Police Department came to know about the incident, an initial inquiry was ordered during which it came to fore that the SI Sunil Kumar failed to control over the cops and also speaks lack of supervision as well as carelessness and dereliction towards legitimate duties, which warrants a department proceeding against SI.
The SI has been placed under suspension and SPO Parveet sent back to District Jammu with recommendation to disengage him.
SI has been directed to report TPL City Jammu and a departmental inquiry has been initiated against him.
