Excelsior Correspondent

SRINAGAR, Sept 28: Former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today, in a statement, dared Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to shun tainted babus appointed by her and other ministers of her cabinet without the mandate of the cabinet, required for transfer of senior officers over and above the level of joint directors and additional secretaries before seeking the support of the officers for eradication of corruption.
Vakil said for eradicating corruption CM should have team of the officers of high integrity not the officers appointed by Chief Minister and other ministers of her without the nod of cabinet required for transfers for the officers in the middle and upper rungs of the bureaucracy.
Expressing surprise that how come corruption can be eradicated when the Government has appointed top official in administration against whom cases are pending in State Vigilance Organization. Asking Chief Minister to cancel the deputation of a Non Cadre officer who has been brought from judiciary to head the ailing State Road Transport Corporation J&K SRTC, Vakil also dared Chief Minister to cancel the posting of an Officer of the Legislative Council presently holding the position of Additional Director of State Rural Livelihood Mission as he too is facing enquiry into the veracity of his date of birth and qualification certificates.
State Government is only talking of uprooting corruption but nothing practical has been done so far in this direction as corruption cases are pending since years together against ex Ministers politicians and Government has nothing done till today in activating the legal agency in getting the stay vacated obtained by those politicians and bureaucrats from High court which indicates clearly a secret pact between the Government and opposition NC in safeguarding interests of each other to protect corruption politicians Vakil added.
