JAMMU, Sept 16:  Shriram Dandekar, Vice-Chairman and officiating Director of  Camlin Industries, has been appointed as first Chairman of the newly established Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu.
The appointment was made by Ministry of Human Resource Development, which also gave its consent for the new Chairpersons of IIM Ranchi, IIM Tiruchirapalli and  IIM Shilong.
Shanker Pandya, president of Diamond India Ltd,  has been appointed as Chairman of IIM Ranchi while Jalaz Dani, who remained associated with Asian Paints, is the Chairman of Tiruchirapalli.  Shishir Bajouria , owner of  Colcatta based S K Bajouria Industries, has been appointed as Chairman of IIM Shillong.
These names were cleared by the MHRD after a panel of three candidates  was forwarded by the each IIM.
Pertinent to mention that post of Chairman in an IIM is an honorary position, on  which industrialists are usually appointed  by the Government.
