Shrine Board’s Sports Complex emerging as hub of sports

KATRA, Nov 4: Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, Katra, established by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is fast emerging as a hub of sports and games, besides specialised coaching facilities.
With a view to organise various sports activities, a calendar of activities has been prepared besides creating centre of excellence in the identified disciplines of Archery, Shooting and Athletics.
Talent hunts are also organised from time to time by holding trials in the educational institutions of the area to catch them young and thereafter the selected boys and girls are imparted specialised coaching at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex to groom them for participation in competitions held at various levels.
Special coaching camps are also organised by the Shrine Board for the school children of Katra and its surrounding areas in the identified sports disciplines of Archery, Athletics and Shooting, besides Volleyball, Basketball and Table Tennis to impart them required techniques.
